- Reopen Pass to Improve Flushing & Water Quality
- Design a Stable natural Pass along a designated “inlet corridor”
- Restore the beaches of Casey Key and Siesta Key
Challenges and Implementation Goals:
- Field Investigations to Proceed Immediately to Allow Submit Permit Application in 2004
- Stable Inlet Design is Essential Project Goal (no migration)
- Federal Agencies (EPA, USFWS and NMFS Anticipates Significant Environmental and Physical Changes to Interior Estuary)
- Obtain Permits for Dredging of New Inlet and Tidal Channel Connection
to GIWW
