Sarasota County is undertaking the work necessary to plan, design and permit a Project to Reopen Midnight Pass. This Project will restore tidal flows to Little Sarasota Bay, return the system to a marine environment, afford an access to the Gulf for boaters, provide sand for beach nourishment and stabilize the adjacent beaches. Present studies underway will provide the information needed to determine the environmental, economic (costs and benefits) and scientific merits of this Project.
